Have you ever been fitted for clubs, taken lessons, recorded your swing and compare with the optimum swing, checked out other swing techniques, practiced at a driving range with all your irons until you are consistent at each one? Golf is not an easy sport. I am self taught and it took me a year to start shooting in the 90s. I am now a legitimate 22 handicap with my downfall being the short game. I don’t even use woods, just irons. I am now at the point that I am learning how to drive/putt.
If you don’t enjoy something, you don’t enjoy it. You may be “cursed” like I am. I do something until I get very good at it or my body gives out. Unfortunately, I find the rush of learning about something new much more fun than being a master at any given thing. Do what you want, but if I were you, don’t pursue something if you don’t enjoy it. You could always play in high school in order to get into a great college.
guys for the past year ive hadnt had any fun playing golf. im 6 hdcp and i hit it long. im 15, got a girlfriend and go to a cathotich private school and have a GPA of 3.8. i used really love golf even when i shot in the 90’s. now im shooting 70’s but not really getting excited about and shots. any suggestions. btw, my local pro says im good enough to go pro and still im not excited.
